British Museum

Probably the most impressive collection in the UK, the amazing British Museum is a must-see for any visitor to London. The collection of seven million objects representing the rich history of human cultures mirrors the city of London's global variety. In no other museum can the visitor see so clearly the history of what it is to be human. Don't miss the central courtyard, the Elgin Marbles and the Rosetta Stone. And best of all, it's completely free!

Imperial War Museum

The Imperial War Museum is unique in its coverage of conflicts, especially those involving Britain and the Commonwealth, from the First World War to the present day. Exhibits range from tanks and aircraft to photographs and personal letters; they include film and sound recordings, and some of the 20th century's best-known paintings.

National Gallery

The National Gallery in London houses one of the greatest collections of European painting in the world. These pictures belong to the public and entrance to see them is free.

National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum (NMM) is the largest maritime museum in the world with a collection of over two million objects related to seafaring, navigation, astronomy and measuring time. The NMM incorporates the Royal Observatory, Greenwich and the Queen's House - the Museum forms the centre of Maritime Greenwich - a World Heritage Site.

Natural History Museum

Displays of dinosaurs, mammals etc. The Earth Gallery which shows the making of our planet from earthquakes to volcanoes and hurricanes.
